Be aware! - Locking your conventional rim and mortice lock will not keep a burglar out
Note that the burglar here has broken the wooden door in two in order to gain access, leaving the fragment of door containing the two locks, which are still inserted into the frame. While the locks are of good quality, they have been rendered irrelevant by the wooden door.

Many burglaries occur between the hours of 1-4 in the afternoon, when the chances are that apartments are unoccupied. Most doors and frames dating from conversions are of poor quality, usually soft wood. Occupiers have fitted extra locks to their doors but a burglar realises there is no strength in the door and frame, and forces all the doors open. Points to consider when purchasing a steel door
- Do not go for the cheapest price - does the door comply with the Europe-wide fire resistance standard BS EN 1634-1? (which replaces the previous British Standard for fire resistance)
- Is the door and locking mechanism made in the UK ?
- Does the security key come with a side bar ?
- Telephone the company in the evening or at weekends to see if they are offering the service they promised should anything go wrong with the door locking mechanism e.g. An attempted burglary etc
- This is important as we operate a 24-hour locksmith service we are able to send one of our professional locksmiths out if required, who will have knowledge of your locking mechanism
- Is the telephone manner of the company that you'll contacting professional in answering all your questions ?
- Does the company take credit card payment ?; most professional companies do.

Our surveyor takes precise measurements of your current door and frame. We contact you with a firm quotation and installation date.
Your door is handmade by our master craftsmen at our factory.
Installation on the agreed date (including disposal of your old door and frame) will be completed on site in approximately 5 hours.
On the day of installation, your door is delivered in a protective foam-packed wooden crate. We then take the component parts and assemble them, in place, into the completed door and frame
